Quote Thursday - Alistair Begg

The only true conqueror who shall be crowned in the end is he who continues until war's trumpet is blown no more.... Christian, wear your shield close to your armor and cry earnestly to God, that by His Spirit you may endure to the end.

~Alistair Begg

This is such a good reminder of our purpose here on earth. We are soldier's in Christ's army, as 2 Timothy 2: 3-4 reminds us.

"Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the One who enlisted him as a soldier."

Also, Ephesians 6: 10-11 reiterates this fact, "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil."

This week, may we not lose sight of our King's banner, but may we in all diligence and steadfastness seek to conquer the domains of darkness and spread forth His glorious light; in His strength, for His glory!

Quote Thursday - John Piper

So, here is the quote of the week.

"God created us for this: to live our lives in a way that makes him look more like the greatness and the beauty and the infinite worth that he really is. This is what it means to be created in the image of God."

~John Piper

Will you accept the challenge with me-the challenge to display Christ's greatness in our lives? We can never do this on our own; only the Holy Spirit working in us can change our selfish and prideful hearts to display any trace of God's glory through our lives.

"Therefore, be imitators of God, as beloved children." (Ephesians 5:1)
