Our Journey to Washington: Day 5

Quick Morning Update:

This morning we woke to the sound of sirens on the highway, which is right next to the Walmart parking lot we're staying at. We didn't really think anything of it, because there are always occasional accidents.

When we opened up the shades, we understood why we heard all those sirens....snow!!! Last night, we received a couple inches of snow... and it is still snowing.

Here are some pictures I took this morning:

We checked the weather in Yellowstone as well, but it was 8 degrees. The largest snowfall they were expecting was 9-14 inches.

So, since Yellowstone is out of the question, we are now planning on driving to Spokane, Washington today. Then on Saturday, we will arrive in North Bend, Washington...our new home!

I'll post more later on in the day.

Prayer Requests:
  • Safety on the roads, as it is still snowing here

  1. Dear Makenna,
Please ask your parents if there is anything we can do to help you out when you arrive on Saturday! We would love to be there for you to help you move things in!
Bless you as you finish your journey, and may the Lord be with you as you travel the passes over the mountains!

    ~Mrs. Engstrom

  2. WOW, that's crazy!! You can just come back to MI, we don't have any snow here!! wait... maybe you shouldn't. were supposed to get some on Sunday..... we'll pray that your dad can figure out how to drive a huge
motorhome, in the mountains, in a snowstorm!
    luv ya,

  3. OK, I FINALLY found a way to post a comment, Makenna! That's my "Going through?" comment above. None of the other attempts have worked so I am now "annonymous." :)

Uncle Bob and I wanted you to know how much we have enjoyed reading your blog! You've done a great job of taking pictures, updating your travels, etc. Thanks so much for keeping us all informed. Know that we have been thinking about all of you so often and you are in our prayers daily! It does seem so strange to consider Washington your home. It will ALWAYS be in all of our hearts! We love you!
